Not all stimulators take the same cables and leadwires, so it is important to get the correct type. Lead wires are available in various lengths, with pin or snap connections. Microcurrent Warehouse carries leadwires for all the devices in our Stimulator section. We also carry several leadwires not shown. If you need assistance in choosing a leadwire or on the conversion of a non-compliant leadwire, do not hesitate to contact us.
Leadwire Care Twisting the pins in and out of the electrode aids in full insertion and easier removal. Replacement of lead wires is not necessary unless a short or break in the wire. To prolong the life of your lead wires, clean them with mild detergent and warm water. Clean off any gel residue on the pin tips to assure good clean contact with the electrode connector. Pat dry and coat with talcum powder to keep wires soft and help prevent tangling.
FDA Leadwire Regulation Older units may require adapting to the FDA leadwire regulation effective May 9. 2000. This regulation prevents cables with an exposed male metal plug at the part that fits into the device from being sold in the USA due to safety issues.
